How does RevSpan work?
When a call to your business goes unanswered or busy, your carrier forwards it to your dedicated RevSpan number. An automated voice message lets the caller know you're unavailable and asks them to press 1 to receive a text. If they press 1, RevSpan texts them right away to gather what they need — so a missed call still turns into a real conversation instead of a lost lead.
What do I need to set up on my end?
Two things on your actual business phone (never on the RevSpan number itself):
1. Forward on no-answer/busy to the RevSpan number we send you at signup — your carrier's dial code or app handles this.
2. Turn off your phone's own voicemail. This one matters: your phone's built-in voicemail and RevSpan are both racing to answer an unanswered call. If your native voicemail picks up first, RevSpan never sees the call at all. Disabling voicemail (through your carrier's account settings, not just hiding the inbox on your phone) is what makes sure RevSpan wins that race every time.
A caller said they never got a text — why?
A few possibilities, in order of likelihood:
They didn't press 1. No text is ever sent without that in-call consent — it's how RevSpan stays compliant, not a bug.
The call reached your phone's own voicemail instead of RevSpan (see the setup question above) — if that happens, RevSpan was never involved in that call at all.
Your number is brand new to text messaging carriers. New business phone numbers go through a short carrier registration process before texting is fully active — voice recovery works from day one regardless, and we'll let you know if this affects you.
How do I mark a job booked or record what it was worth?
Reply directly to texts from your own RevSpan number:
"BOOKED <phone>" once you've scheduled a lead.
"REVENUE <phone> <amount>" once a job is complete.
You'll also get a one-tap follow-up the day after a job is booked — just reply with the amount (e.g. "850") to confirm it.

How do I update billing or cancel?
Visit revspan.io/billing and enter your email for a secure link to manage your payment method, view invoices, or cancel — the same passwordless approach as the dashboard.
My CRM/scheduling tool already texts back missed calls — why do I need this too?
Most of those tools do one thing: fire the same generic "sorry we missed you, we'll call you back" text at every missed call. RevSpan is built to do three things a canned auto-text doesn't. It asks for consent by voice before it ever sends a message — not an automatic blast, which is where a lot of missed-call features run into trouble under text messaging law. It actually qualifies the caller through a real conversation — name, problem, urgency — instead of sending everyone the same line. And it shows you a dashboard that ties dollars recovered back to the specific call that started it, not an estimate.
If your current tool already does all three, you don't need RevSpan. If it just fires one message and stops there, that's the gap.
